If you’re at all familiar with chakras, you know how important they are to our balance and energy.
And just as we have chakras, so too does the earth. Just as there are energy lines throughout our body, so too are there throughout the earth—only Gaia’s energy lines are called ley lines, and they carry energy charges.
The Ley Lines carry energy between the vibrational points at which they intersect, and as it happens, those intersections are also the location of some of the world’s most sacred sites, including Angkor Wat, the Pyramids, Machu Picchu, and Stonehenge.
While not many cultures today still celebrate ley lines, it’s obvious that many of the great ancient civilizations did. Chinese cultures have historically referred to them as dragon lines, and the Aborigines of Australia known them as dream lines. Elsewhere in the world they are known as spirit lines or ley lines.
And it is at these intersections, where those energies come together, that we find mother earth’s chakras.
Root Chakra
Mount Shasta, California, USA
Many Native American tribes recognized Mt Shasta, in northern California, as a spiritual center, and that makes sense, as it is the root chakra.
Sacral Chakra
Lake Titicaca, Peru-Bolivia, South America
In particular, the sacral chakra has it’s center at the Titicaca Stone, and that energy extends to Machu Picchu. Also important is that the two ley lines that intersect at Lake Titicaca are known as the great dragon lines, including the male great dragon line, which also connects to Mt Shasta.
Solar Plexus Chakra
Uluru- Kata Tjuta, Northern Territory, Australia
And the female great dragon line connects Lake Titicaca to Uluru, which is still celebrated as sacred by the native Aboriginal tribes today.
Heart Chakra
Stonehenge, England
That same female great dragon line also connects to Stonehenge, which sits atop the heart chakra of earth.
Throat Chakra
The Great Pyramid, Jerusalem, Mt. Sinai and Mt. Olives (Middle East)
The throat chakra is one of the only chakras not connected to either great dragon line, but is still an area of tremendous energy, which helps explain why it has been at the center of so much human history.
Third Eye Chakra
Varied locations
Unlike the other chakras, the third eye moves as a result of astrological ages. As we are now in the Age of Aquarius, the third eye is located near Stonehenge; when we enter the Age of Capricorn, the chakra will move to Brazil.
Crown Chakra
Mt. Kailash (Himalayan Mountains) Tibet
The crown chakra is fittingly located at one of the highest peaks in the world, Mt Kailas, in the Himalayan Mountains. Connected to the idea of the Scorpio Full Moon, many locals celebrate the coming each year of the Scorpio Full moon (which occurs in April or May each year).
There are also other high points of spiritual energy around the world on other ley lines in addition to the aforementioned 7 chakras, including:
- Angkor Wat, Cambodia
- Bali, Indonesia
- Bermuda Triangle
- Calgary, Canada
- Capetown, South Africa
- Devil’s Sea Triangle (Japan)
- Easter Island
- Findhorn, Scotland
- Gabon (West Africa)
- Karachi, Pakistan
- Kiev, Ukraine
- Maui, Hawaii
- Mount Fuji, Japan
- Sarawak, Borneo
- Sedona, Arizona
- Lake Taupo, New Zealand
